Here in Copenhagen, the weather is rapidly getting colder, and we’re in the mood for cozying up inside. Our new series of candle holders, called Lumberjack, are ideal for creating warm and nice ambience lighting anywhere in the home.
Lumberjack is a series of candle holders full of character turned from a single cylindrical piece of wood. The Danish designer Simon Legald has given them a simple expression with characteristic soft incisions. Inspired by lumberjacks slowly chopping away at the trunk of a tree until it is balanced on a narrow point, these candle holders are an ode to the forrest.

The warm, saturated colors range from natural wood to barklike hues as well as moss and the tones of withering leaves.

Simon Legald says: “I think it’s fascinating how small details can change the entire perception of a product. Lumberjack is a really good example of how you can remove a little in order to emphasize a lot. I have visited many woodturning workshops over the years, and I think this classic carpenter technique was a perfect way to add craftsmanship and finesse to an industrial design”.
